Single vs. Multi-Cycle IVF Treatment Packages

The Reproductive Endocrinology field has made tremendous advances over the last several years. Fertility treatment outcomes that routinely posted 20% success rates now have a national average of 47%, with well over 100 fertility centers posting success rates of 50% – 70+ %* (*SART 2013).

The multi-cycle IVF treatment plans that exist today may be very sensible for those who are risk-averse and would like a type of ‘insurance plan’, in case they may need another IVF attempt.

Should you require another attempt, our discounted prices are still more affordable than paying for multiple cycles and the medication that you may never need.

How Is The WINFertility Program Different From The Multi-cycle Treatment Plans With Refunds?

The WINFertility Program offers single cycle packages that include treatment and medications and can be 10% to 40% less than the unbundled rates. Should you require another attempt, our discounted packages are still more affordable than paying for multiple cycles that you may never need.

How is the WINFertility Program different from the multi-cycle treatment plans with refunds?

The multi-cycle refund programs that exist today require that you meet certain medical and age criteria to participate and that you pay cash for the program. WINFertility programs are open to all who require infertility treatment and who have no infertility insurance coverage. Most of the WINFertility Treatment Program Bundles do not offer a refund, but provide substantially reduced costs for easier treatment access. A new option is now available (2nd Chance IVFSM Refund, explained below).

Most Multi-cycle plans require a significant payment up front for medical treatment only (medication costs run an additional $4,500 - $10,000). These multi-cycle plans cost more than 2 ½ times the charges for a single, bundled attempt with WINFertility (which includes all medications for the cycle).

With many multi-cycle plans, patients may get up to 6 medical treatment attempts for that price (medications extra). If you don’t have a pregnancy or a baby, you receive a partial refund. If you have a successful outcome on the first attempt or second attempt, you have paid that significantly higher price (approx. 2 ½ times the WINFertility bundled price, medications included).

6 cycle Multi-cycle plans may be a sensible choice for those who would like a type of ‘insurance plan’, in case they need several IVF attempts. However, with IVF success rates in the 50-70% range, multi-cycle plans might not be the best financial decision for every patient.

The 2nd Chance IVF Refund Program

A Different Kind of Multi-Cycle Option
Unlike other multi-cycle refund programs, the 2nd Chance IVFSM Refund Program does not require you to commit to several cycles in order to qualify for a refund if you’re unsuccessful. 2nd Chance IVFSM gives you two chances to have a successful pregnancy, covering a complete fresh and a complete frozen IVF cycle including all medications and cryopreservation. Patients have up to 12 months after the fresh cycle to use the frozen embryo transfer (FET.)

If the FET is not used, the patient receives up to a 70% refund or credit on the unused FET and medications. There is no age or medical criteria to participate and financing options are available. As with all treatment plans, your WINFertility Network physician must approve this program for you.
